Biography – Dinesh Gomes

Dinesh Gomes was born into a Christian family with a rich heritage of faith and ministry. Nurtured from childhood by his grandmother and by faithful lay and ordained leaders, he developed an early vision of discipleship that embraces mind, body, and soul in service to God.

After seasons of profound personal loss, Dinesh experienced a transformative encounter with Jesus Christ in 1996, leading him to respond wholeheartedly to God’s call to ministry. He entered full-time pastoral ministry in 2002 and was ordained in 2010, dedicating his life to preaching, discipleship, and compassionate pastoral care.

For over twenty years, Dinesh has served congregations in Sri Lanka and Canada, including rural, urban, and transitional communities. Through True Life and Ministry Strategic Solutions, he offers pastoral leadership, preaching, and administrative support to churches navigating seasons of change or addressing specific ministry needs. His work reflects a holistic approach to ministry—integrating spiritual formation, intellectual engagement, and practical care—while strengthening congregational life and mission.

Dinesh holds theological credentials from Acadia Divinity College (Nova Scotia), the Centre for Graduate Studies, Lanka Bible College and Seminary (Colombo, Sri Lanka), and the Senate of Serampore University (West Bengal, India). He also holds professional qualifications from the Institute of Bankers of Sri Lanka and the University of Colombo.

He affirms Scripture as the God-breathed authority for faith and life, salvation by grace alone through faith in Jesus Christ, and the Church’s calling to be courageous, missional, and faithful in a secular age. Beyond titles and accomplishments, Dinesh seeks to faithfully steward his God-given gifts, influencing the world around him for Christ’s glory. His ministry is rooted in diakonia—faithful service that integrates mind, body, and soul while participating in God’s work for the life of the world.

Dinesh is married to Mignonne Gomes, his devoted ministry partner, and together they are blessed with two sons, Andrew and Emmanuel. As a family, they value diversity, inclusion, and service across the churches and communities they have been privileged to serve.
